University of Northern Iowa Museum Mastodon Project

The University of Northern Iowa Museum staff needed more information on 10,000 year old Mastodon Tusks
before they could restore them. Aryn Isenhower,R.T.(R), a BTX Radiologic Technoligist, assisted the curators by
digitally imaging an 11 foot tusk and a shorter piece. These tusks were found in Iowa and are the oldest known
Mastodon Tusks in the world!

in Cedar Falls, Iowa to assist them in preparing for their preservation efforts.
